Original Item – Only One Set Available. This original pair of PMC Wagner unit patches represents two distinct assault formations, including the 13th Assault Detachment and the 1st Platoon of the 6th Assault Detachment, and originates from the early active-service period of Wagner operations.
The 1st Platoon of the 6th Assault Detachment, at the time this patch was created, the platoon was commanded by Granitich (listed as Granat in documents at that time). The idea for the patch originated in the spring of 2018 in Eastern Ghouta (a suburb of Damascus). The artwork was developed by Kashtan. This text is written based on his recollections.
The central figure of the patch is a small imp. This idea belongs to Granitich and represents a mischievous troublemaker, a kind of prankster, but with a “human face.” Meaning he is not entirely a demon, but not an angel either. It’s like a blank beginning: where circumstances lead him, that’s what he becomes in the moment. Everything depends on the situation whether he turns out smiling and friendly, or hostile and deadly. That’s why he is shown winking and holding a pitchfork. “Don’t look at me being small and smiling, tomorrow I’m going on an assault, and you’re all done for.”
The imp is shown against the background of the Wagner PMC Black Cross, with runes depicted on three of its ends. On the left is Tiwaz, the warrior’s rune (the necessity of achieving set goals, resisting those who stand in the way, restoring justice). On the upper end is Thurisaz, the rune of critical situations (careful consideration, no rushing, sound judgment). On the right is Sowilo, the rune of one’s “finest hour” (it helps those who clearly know what they want, victory goes to the one with nowhere to retreat, who must act).
On the lower end of the cross, Roman numerals VI–I are written (6th detachment, 1st platoon). Around the patch, in red letters on a white background, runs the inscription: “Death is our business, and business is going well.”
In many ways, this patch proved itself. During the fighting in Libya, the 1st Platoon of the 6th Assault Detachment operated separately from the main unit, carrying out special tasks, and did not lose a single man.
Both patches are original period pieces, preserved in very good condition, with intact fabric structure and clean printed detail. Complete paired sets from identifiable assault detachments are increasingly difficult to source. This set represents an excellent opportunity to acquire PMC Wagner assault unit patches.
